The Lagos State Police Command has formally entered the ongoing controversy surrounding Pastor Chris Okafor, following public allegations made by Nollywood actress Doris Ogala.

The case, which has generated significant discussion across social media platforms, has now moved into a new stage with law enforcement involvement.

Commissioner Directs CID to Take Over

Sources confirm that the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has instructed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) at Panti to commence a full investigation into the matter.

This directive was reportedly issued despite earlier statements suggesting that no official petition had been submitted by any alleged victim.

Pastor to Be Questioned, Accusers to Be Contacted

Police spokesperson CSP Abimbola Adebisi disclosed that investigators have been authorized to invite Pastor Okafor for questioning. In addition, individuals who have publicly made allegations will be contacted to obtain their statements.

She noted that the police are prepared to engage with anyone willing to cooperate in order to ensure a comprehensive and fair investigation.

Probe to Continue Without Formal Complaint

According to reports, the Commissioner of Police approved that the inquiry should proceed even without a formal petition. As part of the investigation, officers have also reached out to a YouTuber who previously interviewed some of the alleged victims, with the aim of identifying and accessing potential witnesses.

Allegations Emerged in December

The allegations first surfaced in December when Doris Ogala accused Pastor Okafor of misconduct, claiming she had been involved in a long-term relationship with him since 2017.

Follows Pastor’s Temporary Withdrawal From Ministry

The police action comes shortly after Pastor Okafor announced that he would be stepping aside from active ministry to attend a retreat with his wife—a decision many observers linked to the controversy.

With authorities now officially involved, public attention remains fixed on how the investigation will unfold.
