Joshua Allen, the beloved So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD) star, was laid to rest in Texas on November 8, 2025, in a service marked by tension and police involvement. The 36-year-old dancer tragically died on September 30 after being fatally struck by a train, according to his family.
Police Called to Funeral
The Fort Worth Police Department confirmed that officers were called twice to Allen’s funeral due to reports of an unwelcome guest.
A spokesperson explained that the first call involved “a disturbance where a person was on scene that certain parties did not want on scene, but other parties did not have issue with the person being at the funeral.” Police advised attendees to maintain peace.
A second call came over an hour later from a third party who reported the same concern. Police responded, stationed themselves inside the venue for the remainder of the service, and confirmed that one individual was transported to a hospital but cleared upon arrival. No arrests or citations were issued.
Family Dispute Over Attendee
TMZ reported that the individual in question was Joshua Allen’s girlfriend, who had allegedly received permission from Allen’s mother to attend the open-casket funeral. According to Allen’s father, Eddie Allen, she came in peace and displayed “grace, patience, and love,” but was allegedly confronted by members of the dancer’s mother’s family.
Footage circulating on social media reportedly shows the girlfriend leaning close to Joshua’s casket, prompting others to approach her and remove her from the area, while police arrived shortly afterward.
