The Yobe State Police Command has announced the escape of Abba Hassan, a condemned inmate, from the Maximum Security Custodial Centre in Potiskum.

According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the fugitive is a native of Borno State.

The police have urged the public to remain vigilant and assist in the rearrest of Hassan.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Command advised:

“Members of the public, security agencies, transport operators, community leaders, and vigilante groups within Yobe State and neighbouring states are hereby advised to be vigilant and report any sighting or information that may lead to his location and prompt rearrest. Do not attempt to confront or apprehend him on your own.”
