
The Nigeria Police Force has announced the redeployment of officers across multiple commands in line with President Bola Tinubu’s directive to withdraw police personnel from VIP escort and guard duties and return them to core policing roles amid rising insecurity.
Gombe Command
Twelve officers have been posted to Gombe, including Inspectors Salisu Suleiman, Usman Sule, Musa Jeji, Mohammed Umar, Abdulkadir Isah, Auwalu Mohammed, Samaila Hassan, Mohammed Adadu, Chadi Thlama, Ahmed Ephraim, Safiyanu Abdullahi, and Bello Hashimu.

The redeployment notice was copied to key security officials, including the Chief Personal Security Officer to the President, the Commander of No. 24 PMF Abuja, and police formations in cities such as Abakaliki, Ado-Ekiti, Awka, Bauchi, Calabar, Damaturu, Enugu, Gombe, Jos, Kano, Katsina, Makurdi, Maiduguri, Minna, Owerri, Sokoto, Uyo, Yola, and Yenagoa, reflecting the nationwide scale of the internal police movement.
Following the presidential directive, the Nigeria Police Force has also deployed special teams to ensure compliance, while civil defence officers have been assigned to replace withdrawn VIP escorts.
