Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has once again shifted the narrative—this time by introducing a groundbreaking payment option for fans ahead of his upcoming concert.
The Ojuelegba hitmaker has become the first Nigerian artist to offer a “pay small small” ticket plan, allowing fans to purchase their concert tickets in installments rather than paying the full price at once.
The innovative move comes at a time when many Nigerians are dealing with financial strain, especially during the festive season when major events are often too expensive for many to attend.
With the new system, fans no longer need to drop ₦50k, ₦100k, or more in one go. Instead, they can make a small initial deposit, spread the rest of the payment over time, secure their preferred seats early, and avoid last-minute price hikes or missing out on a sold-out show.
The structure mirrors familiar community savings schemes, making the concert more inclusive and budget-friendly for everyone.
Social media has erupted with reactions—funny, loud, and largely supportive. While some fans joked that Wizkid has turned the concert into a “contribution” system, many praised the singer for introducing a fan-friendly, thoughtful, and innovative idea.
One fan wrote, “This is how it is supposed to be. Respect to Wizkid.” Another joked, “It seems like people will now save for concerts the same way they save for Christmas rice.”
