The much-anticipated Sabi Chef Street Food Festival and Competition is set to return for its third edition, promising even more flavour, excitement, and creativity.

Organisers of the popular culinary event have announced that the 2025 Sabi Chef winner will walk away with a cash prize of ₦2 million, as the festival continues to celebrate Nigeria’s rich street food culture — from suya and shawarma to boli and buns.

Since its debut in 2023, Sabi Chef has quickly grown into one of Nigeria’s most vibrant food events, spotlighting the artistry, innovation, and passion of local food vendors and emerging chefs.

This year’s edition comes with a new humanitarian initiative tagged “Feed 1000”, designed to provide hot meals for 1,000 underprivileged children.

According to the festival’s founder, Olushola Ewuola, the outreach is aimed at spreading warmth and kindness beyond the kitchen.

“This year, we’re turning up the heat — not just in the kitchen, but in the hearts of Nigerians,” Ewuola said. “We want to ensure that 1,000 children on the streets get a warm meal and a sense of belonging.”

The organisers also announced a strategic partnership with Zuri Seasoning, a new brand under UAC Foods, to elevate the festival’s taste experience.

“Zuri Seasoning understands authentic flavour,” Ewuola added. “Their energy and commitment to local taste make them the perfect partner for Sabi Chef.”

The festival’s brand ambassador, Chef Joy, revealed that this year’s theme — “Pepper Dem!” — challenges contestants to showcase bold flavours, creativity, and confidence in their dishes.

“We want contestants to bring real Nigerian heat — the kind that excites the tongue and tells a story,” she said.

Adding to the excitement, the grand finale will feature a live performance by Segun Johnson, setting the perfect mood for a night of food, fun, and celebration.

Founded in 2023, Sabi Chef has established itself as a yearly culinary showcase that not only celebrates street food but also inspires community spirit, innovation, and national pride through taste.
