Sabrina Carpenter Calls Miss Piggy an “Icon” in Teaser for The Muppet Show’s Return on ABC and Disney+

The beloved Muppets are making a much-anticipated comeback, and Sabrina Carpenter is joining the fun. In the first teaser for the upcoming special The Muppet Show, which aired during Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest, Carpenter shared the spotlight with the legendary Miss Piggy, calling her an “icon” in a playful exchange that has already thrilled fans.

Miss Piggy and Sabrina Carpenter Share Screen Time

The teaser shows Sabrina Carpenter joining the Muppets for some classic antics, matching outfits with Miss Piggy and engaging in humorous banter. At one point, Carpenter hyped up the diva, saying, “You’re an icon.” True to form, Miss Piggy responded with her signature confidence: “You’re too sweet. Go on.”

This cameo comes months after Carpenter’s playful “arrest” of Miss Piggy during the final show of her Short n’ Sweet Tour in Los Angeles. Before performing her hit “Juno,” Carpenter jokingly handcuffed Miss Piggy and Bobo the Bear, saying, “You guys are so beautiful it should be a crime… Like you, gorgeous. I’d know that face anywhere!”

During the teaser, the duo continued their cheeky interactions, with Carpenter asking Miss Piggy if she was enjoying the show. Piggy replied, “I’m loving it! I mean, I do have a few notes. I’ll share them with you after the show.” Bobo the Bear, acting as security, added to the fun, saying, “Let’s go, Pig… Tell it to the judge, sister.”

Seth Rogen Brings The Muppets Back to Life

The teaser also features Seth Rogen chatting with Fozzie Bear, sharing his lifelong love for the show: “It’s always been a dream of mine to be here,” he said. Fozzie jokingly replied, “Ooh, got any other dreams?” Rogen, who serves as executive producer of the special, confirmed that he’s been working for years to revive the iconic franchise. In a December 17 Instagram post, he wrote, “I’ve been working the better part of the last decade to try to bring my favorite show back… and it looks like I’m getting close.”

Will The Muppet Show Return as a Series?

While this upcoming special is a one-time event, Kermit the Frog hinted that there could be more to come. “It may be starting again, depending on how tonight goes,” he teased in the promo, leaving fans hopeful that the Muppets’ return might not be limited to a single episode.

When and Where to Watch

The Muppet Show is set to premiere Wednesday, February 4, 2026, and will be available for streaming on both ABC and Disney+. Fans can expect the same mix of humor, music, and beloved characters that made the original series a timeless classic, now with modern twists and special guest appearances like Sabrina Carpenter.
