Marvel fans have a lot to look forward to as Sadie Sink, star of Stranger Things, teases her upcoming role in the highly anticipated Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Set to hit theaters on July 31, 2026, the film promises an exciting continuation of the Spider-Man saga, and Sink reveals that keeping her Marvel secrets has been more challenging than guarding spoilers for Stranger Things.
Sadie Sink on Joining the Spider-Verse
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sink expressed her excitement about joining the Spider-Verse, revealing that she learned about the role while wrapping up the fifth and final season of Stranger Things.
“Oh, it was crazy,” Sink shared. “Spider-Man has always been my favorite. I love Spider-Man. I love Tom’s Spider-Man, especially. To be a fan of something and then join it is a familiar feeling for me, because I was a fan of Stranger Things before I joined the show, but I was super excited about what they had planned.”
Adding a personal connection to her experience, Sink mentioned, “I also worked with the director, Destin Daniel Cretton, in one of the first movies I ever did when I was 14, so it’s kind of a full-circle moment. I had an amazing time working on that film.”
The actress also hinted at how secretive her Marvel role has been: “I can’t wait to talk about it more. There’s so much I want to share. That’s why I feel like keeping Stranger Things secrets are kind of easy because I have so many Spider-Man secrets I’m sitting on that feel even more secretive.”
Returning Cast and New Additions
While details about Sink’s character remain under wraps, fans can expect new faces alongside the familiar Spider-Man cast. Sink will join The Bear star Liza Colón-Zayas as newcomers to the Marvel franchise. Returning stars include Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and Jon Favreau, reprising their beloved roles.
This fourth installment of the Spider-Man series follows Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) and explores the aftermath of Peter Parker’s erased legacy. As previously explained by producer Amy Pascal, the storyline focuses on Peter’s decision to give up his personal life as Peter Parker and focus entirely on being Spider-Man, confronting the challenges of his dual identity.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day – Plot Teasers
Although specific plot details are being kept top-secret, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is expected to dive deeper into the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s multiverse storyline, building on the dramatic events of previous films. With Sink joining the cast, the film introduces fresh dynamics that fans are eagerly anticipating.
Tom Holland shared early glimpses of his new Spider-Man suit via social media, giving audiences a first look at the hero’s evolution in this next chapter. Meanwhile, fans are speculating how Sink’s character will fit into the complex Spider-Verse narrative.
Sadie Sink on Future Roles
Outside of Marvel, Sink discussed her approach to selecting projects, emphasizing her desire for challenges and growth as an actress. “I’m finding myself gravitating towards challenges, which is good,” she said. “One thing that’s important to me is to really tap into every side of myself as an actor. When I’m choosing a new project, the first thing I look for is: How is this going to push me in ways I haven’t been pushed before?”
Although she hasn’t committed to a specific genre, Sink expressed interest in exploring a mix of darker, demanding roles and lighter, comedic projects in the future. “I feel like in a couple of years I’m going to be like, ‘I just want to do a comedy or something really light,’ but I still gravitate towards darker, more demanding things,” she said.
