YouTuber and stand-up comedian Samay Raina celebrated Dhanteras in style this year, gifting himself and his parents a swanky luxury car. Sharing glimpses on Instagram, Samay revealed his brand-new Toyota Vellfire, a 7-seater MUV/MPV priced between ₹1.20 crore and ₹1.30 crore.
In a series of Instagram Stories, Samay showcased the car from multiple angles. One image featured him admiring the high-end MPV inside the showroom, captioned with a red heart emoji. Another captured a heartwarming moment of his parents standing on either side of the car, while a playful shot showed Samay sitting on the floor in front of it. In a tender moment, his mother was seen caressing his face. A brief video highlighted the luxurious all-black interior, prompting Samay to write simply: “You guys were right.”
Toyota Vellfire: Luxury Meets Functionality
The Toyota Vellfire is designed to blend luxury and practicality. It comes in two variants with a 2,487 cc engine and automatic transmission. Safety features include six airbags, a 360-degree camera, hill-assist control, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). The cabin offers three theme options—sunset brown, black, and neutral beige—and a state-of-the-art dashboard with a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 15-speaker JBL sound system, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
Samay’s choice reflects his penchant for premium vehicles. The Vellfire is perfect for family trips, combining spacious seating with high-end entertainment and safety features, making it a thoughtful gift for both himself and his parents.
A Growing Car Collection
This isn’t Samay’s first luxury vehicle. Back in 2020, he shared on Instagram that he had purchased his first car, a Honda City, joking about learning to drive after years of playing GTA. Over time, Samay has built an impressive collection, including a Mini Cooper, Ford Mustang, Kia Carnival, and Porsche Boxster. With the Vellfire added to his lineup, the comedian’s garage now blends style, performance, and family-friendly functionality.
Recent Headlines and Controversies
While Samay continues to thrive as a content creator, he has also faced public scrutiny. Earlier this year, he was embroiled in controversy over his YouTube show India’s Got Latent, alongside Apoorva Mukhija, Ashish Chanchlani, and Ranveer Allahbadia, following allegations of promoting obscene content. Additionally, in August, the Supreme Court directed Samay, along with five others, to issue unconditional apologies on their channels for allegedly insensitive remarks toward people with disabilities.
Despite these challenges, Samay remains in the public eye for his creativity, humour, and now, his taste in luxury cars. His Dhanteras purchase of the Toyota Vellfire not only signifies success but also highlights the comedian’s love for family and flair for premium experiences.
