Senator Adebule to Lead Women at Criterion Conference

Senator Idiat Adebule, representing Lagos West District, will lead thousands of women at the Biennial International Conference of The Criterion, a prestigious association for Muslim women in business and professions. The four-day conference, tagged EKO-AKETE 2025, is scheduled to hold at Orchid Hotel, Lekki, from Wednesday to Sunday.

The conference theme, “Breaking the Glass Ceiling: Muslim Women Overcoming Economic and Social Challenges,” highlights the event’s focus on women empowerment, professional growth, and tackling economic barriers in Nigeria.

Speaking on the conference objectives, International Ameerah of The Criterion, Hajia Medinat Akanni, explained that EKO-AKETE 2025 will serve as a platform for Muslim women to share ideas, foster collaboration, and develop solutions to social and economic challenges while promoting faith-based values.

Hajia Ibironke Ogun, Chairman of the Planning Committee, confirmed that several notable dignitaries are expected at the event, including Lagos State Deputy Governor Dr. Kadri Hamzat, MUSWEN Deputy President Alhaji Rafiu Ebiti, former NAHCON Chairman Alhaji Dhikrullah Hassan, Prof. Ramota Karim, Vice-Chancellor of Fountain University, Osogbo, and Chief Imam of Lekki Central Mosque, Dr. Ridwan Jamiu.

Senator Adebule’s leadership at the conference reinforces her commitment to women’s development, social empowerment, and professional advancement across Nigeria. The event promises interactive sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities designed to equip Muslim women with tools to succeed in business and societal leadership.
