Shaquille O’Neal’s $180K Range Rover Stolen in Possible Hacker-Enabled Heist

NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal is dealing with a shocking theft after his custom $180,000 Range Rover reportedly went missing while being transported to Louisiana. The car, which had been modified to accommodate the 7-foot-1 former Lakers star, was reportedly stolen under suspicious circumstances, potentially involving a digital hack, according to authorities.

Details of the Theft

According to TMZ Sports and Page Six, O’Neal’s vehicle was picked up on Monday, October 20, 2025, by the car transport company Effortless Motors in Georgia. The Range Rover, customized with a specially adapted driver’s seat, never reached its intended destination in Louisiana.

The Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that preliminary investigations suggest an unauthorized party may have taken possession of the vehicle under false pretenses. Authorities are also exploring the possibility that the transport company’s data was compromised digitally, enabling the theft.

“Further inquiries revealed that a tow truck registered to Griffin Wrecker Service LLC, bearing Georgia tag YIW241, was involved in transporting the vehicle to an address in Atlanta. The person believed to have coordinated the tow has not yet been fully identified,” the sheriff’s office said.

Effortless Motors is currently offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the vehicle’s recovery, and O’Neal is cooperating with law enforcement.

Shaquille O’Neal’s Custom Cars

O’Neal is known for customizing vehicles to fit his tall frame, including a Lucid Air and a Rolls-Royce Cullinan, as well as refurbishing his late teammate Kobe Bryant’s high school car as a gift to Bryant’s parents.

On a 2024 episode of The Big Podcast with Shaq, he revealed:

“I have 40 cars and I don’t know why. And I got five houses, I don’t know why.”

This incident adds to Shaq’s long list of high-profile car stories, and authorities continue to investigate the possible hacker-assisted theft.
