Controversial Nigerian singer Portable reportedly escaped police arrest after allegedly assaulting his fourth baby mama, actress Ashabi Simple, during an incident at his bar in Ogun State on January 1, 2026.

In a viral video circulating online, Ashabi held onto Portable’s clothing and insisted he acknowledge her as his wife, saying, “Oya Pami baby, I’m also your wife, you’ve to stop calling me your baby mama.” Portable reportedly pushed her and replied that he only recognizes his official wife, Bewaji, while other women with whom he has children are “baby mamas.”

The disagreement escalated, with Ashabi reportedly saying, “Then you will have to kill me, baby.” Following the altercation, Ashabi and her siblings reportedly reported the singer to the police for assault and abuse.

In an Instagram video, Ashabi alleged that Portable slapped her, seized their phones, and threatened her and her siblings with an axe. She also revealed that the police arrived at the home of Portable’s pregnant wife, Bewaji, while Portable himself had escaped.

The incident has sparked a range of reactions online, with some criticizing Ashabi’s behavior and others expressing concern over the allegations of violence.
