Apostle Harrison Anyintete has reacted to singer Skales’ recent testimony, in which the artist shared how his song Shake Body regained popularity after Barcelona footballer Lamine Yamal danced to it.
Skales had earlier revealed at a Harvesters Church event that his long-standing prayers were answered within a day after the video of Yamal dancing to his song went viral.
Pastor Clarifies His Position
Responding to the testimony, Apostle Anyintete stated that his comments were not a personal attack on Skales. He explained that his concern was centered on the church’s decision to publicly present the testimony, rather than on the singer himself.
According to the cleric, the testimony did not contribute to spiritual growth, devotion, or maturity among believers.
Concerns Over Church Standards
Apostle Anyintete questioned the spiritual value of highlighting a testimony linked to a song he believes promotes immorality. He warned that showcasing such narratives in church could send the wrong message, especially to young people.
He argued that projecting this kind of success as a testimony may encourage others to engage in ungodly practices while still expecting divine rewards.
Warning to the Christian Community
The pastor emphasized that testimonies shared in church should inspire godly living and reinforce Christian values. In his view, presenting achievements tied to questionable content risks blurring the line between faith and worldly pursuits.
While reiterating that he holds no personal issues with Skales and wishes him well, Apostle Anyintete urged churches to exercise greater discernment in the testimonies they choose to amplify.
