Sophia Momodu, mother of Davido’s first child, Imade, has addressed criticism over her daughter’s absence from the singer’s 33rd birthday celebration in Atlanta.
In a post on Snapchat, Sophia denied claims that she prevented Imade from attending and emphasized her role as a protective mother. She criticized the spread of unverified stories, stressing that her daughter’s privacy is non-negotiable.
“You people have been pushing this false narrative for over 10 years. While I try to be graceful, I am also a very protective mother. Say whatever you want about me, it’s okay. But leave my child alone. Imade is not a bargaining chip for her mother to conform,” she wrote.
Sophia also warned that legal action could be taken against anyone spreading false information about Imade.
The statement follows the absence of Imade from Davido’s birthday, which included family, friends, and his daughter with another partner, Hailey.
