Stanley Ontop Demands Arrest of Peggy Ovire Over Assault on Taye Arimoro

Popular Nollywood actor Stanley Ontop has called for the immediate arrest of actress Peggy Ovire following the alleged assault of his colleague, Taye Arimoro.

The call came on Thursday after CCTV footage of the incident went viral on social media, contradicting Peggy Ovire’s earlier denial of the assault. Peggy had claimed that it was Taye who assaulted her driver, not the other way around.

Reacting to the video, Stanley Ontop posted on Instagram, tagging the Nigeria Police Force, and insisted that no actor should be subjected to bullying.

“Dear @nigeriapoliceforce, a Nollywood actor, @tayearimoro, was assaulted by a producer, Peggy, and her driver. The actor refused to shoot beyond 12 a.m. because his contract with Peggy had expired. Instead of resolving the matter peacefully, Peggy assaulted him and instructed her driver to do the same, causing serious injury,” he wrote.

He further urged the Lagos State Police Command to act swiftly:

“Peggy should be in police custody as we speak for a case of assault. CCTV footage clearly shows Peggy and her crew surrounding Taye’s vehicle in an attempt to beat him.”

Reports indicate that Taye Arimoro had publicly called out Peggy Ovire in a series of Instagram videos on Wednesday, accusing her of assault at the movie location—allegations previously denied by the actress.
