During her Eras Tour show in London in June 2024, Taylor Swift brought her fiancé, NFL star Travis Kelce, on stage for a memorable moment that fans are still talking about — and according to Swift, it all started as a joke.
In the fourth episode of her Disney+ docuseries The End of an Era, which premiered on Friday, Dec. 19, Swift explained how the idea came together.
“Travis is like… He’s a real yes guy, like in terms of life itself,” Swift said. “He’s just up for anything.”
The singer described how the moment arose while planning a skit for her song “I Can Do It with a Broken Heart”, part of The Tortured Poets Department segment of the tour. Her dramatic idea involved playing a solider fatally wounded on a battlefield — and it suddenly clicked that Kelce could step in.
“I can’t remember how it came up. I think we were just joking around about him doing it, him getting up there with Kam. And it became very clear that he, like, wasn’t joking,” Swift recalled. “And he was like, ‘Put me in. I’m in.'”
Kelce, dressed in a tuxedo and top hat, joined Swift on stage during an outfit change, taking over for the dancer who normally carries her during the segment. Fans got to see Kelce show off some of his signature dance moves, along with his big charming smile.
“I think that’s, as a player, he can slow down time in the most stressful moments, and that’s exactly what we saw on stage,” Swift said. “He got out there and was the most charming, delightful performer you could ever be on the stage with. His instincts — he’s just so magically entertaining.”
Swift’s mother, Andrea Swift, added that Kelce “brought a lot of happiness” to the audience, while Swift herself noted, “I can safely say, that was the loudest it ever got on the Eras Tour.”
The fourth episode of The End of an Era aired Dec. 19, with the final two episodes set to drop on Disney+ on Dec. 23, 2025.
