Teenager Viktor Dadason Scores as Copenhagen Claim First Champions League Win of 2025-26

Copenhagen secured their first Champions League victory of the season thanks to a stunning performance from teenage striker Viktor Dadason, who opened the scoring in the 26th minute during a 3-2 triumph over Kairat Almaty.

The 17-year-old Icelandic forward, making his first Champions League start, has now scored twice in just three European appearances despite yet to find the net in the Danish Superliga.

Dadason Makes Early Impact

Dadason, who debuted in the Danish Superliga on 17 October against Silkeborg, rose to head home after Robert Silva’s initial attempt was saved by Kairat goalkeeper Temirlan Anarbekov. This made him the third-youngest player to score in the UEFA Champions League, behind only Ansu Fati and Lamine Yamal.

Despite Copenhagen taking an early lead, Kairat mounted a strong response. Dastan Satpaev, who will join Chelsea next year, and substitute Olzhas Baybek scored late in the match, pulling the visitors close but leaving them still winless in the group stage.

Second-Half Goals Seal the Win

Copenhagen extended their advantage in the second half when Jordan Larsson, son of former Sweden and Celtic striker Henrik Larsson, converted a penalty in the 59th minute following a handball on Damir Kasabulat.

Robert Silva added a third goal in the 73rd minute, his shot deflecting past Anarbekov to make it 3-0 and seemingly secure the win for the Danish side.

Kairat threatened late, with Satpaev netting in the 81st minute after stealing possession from Copenhagen keeper Dominik Kotarski, and Baybek scoring in stoppage time, but Copenhagen held on to claim a historic victory.

Champions League Standings

The win moves Copenhagen up to 29th in the 36-team league phase, with four points from five matches. Kairat Almaty remain second-bottom with just one point, above only Ajax.
