Three More Arrested in Turkman Gate Stone-Pelting Incident; Total Reaches 16

New Delhi: Delhi Police has arrested three additional suspects in connection with the stone-pelting incident at Turkman Gate, taking the total number of arrests in the case to 16, officials confirmed on Saturday.

The arrested individuals include Mohd Naved, Mohd Faiz, Mohd Ubaidullah, Mohd Arib, Mohd Kashif, Mohd Kaif, Mohd Adnan, Sameer Hussain, Mohd Athar, Shahnawaz Alam, Mohd Imran, Mohd Imran alias Raju, Mohd Affan, Mohd Adil, Mohd Aamir Hamza, and Mohd Ubaidullah.

“On Friday night, we arrested three people involved in stone-pelting. So far, we have arrested 16 people. Further investigation is underway,” said Additional Commissioner of Police Nidhin Valsan.

One influencer, Aimen Rizvi, has stated she has not received any summons and clarified her role. “I was attending a wedding and posted a video around 4 am. I did not ask anyone to mobilize near the mosque; I only shared information that something had happened in the vicinity,” Rizvi told PTI. She also emphasized that she did not support stone-pelting and is willing to cooperate with authorities if summoned.

Another influencer, Salman, is yet to be summoned as the police continue to examine his role in spreading messages related to the incident.

Political Links Under Scrutiny

The police are also scrutinizing the role of a Samajwadi Party MP, reviewing statements and potential involvement in the unrest. Notices may be sent if evidence suggests a need for questioning.
