President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, as the Renewed Hope Ambassador ahead of the national rollout of the Federal Government’s Ward Development Programme.

A statement issued on Tuesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, also confirmed that Uzodimma will serve as Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement, and Mobilisation, with the appointment taking immediate effect.

Under his new role, Governor Uzodimma, who is also the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, will collaborate with All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership and governors nationwide to promote the Tinubu administration’s programmes and achievements. He is tasked with fostering harmony, inclusiveness, and strategic coordination across party structures while mobilising grassroots support.

President Tinubu further announced that APC governors will collectively serve as “Ambassadors of Hope,” working alongside Uzodimma to disseminate information about the administration’s milestones since taking office in May 2023.

Highlighting policy gains under the Renewed Hope Agenda, President Tinubu noted:

• Seven consecutive months of eased inflation, reaching 16.05% in October.
• Stabilisation of the exchange rate and a rise in foreign reserves to over $46 billion, up from $32 billion at the start of his administration.
• Rebounding investor confidence, with increased foreign direct and portfolio investments, especially in oil and gas, alongside a booming stock market.
• Economic diversification through development of solid minerals.
• Liberalised student loan scheme benefiting over 700,000 Nigerians.
• Passport processing timelines reduced nationwide to under one week.

President Tinubu charged Governor Uzodimma with ensuring that Nigerians across all communities are fully informed about these achievements and appreciate the administration’s progress under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
