President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe Aladesanmi III, celebrating both his 80th birthday and the 35th anniversary of his coronation.
In a statement released on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described Oba Adejugbe as one of Nigeria’s most revered traditional rulers, whose reign has been marked by integrity, humility, and dignity.
The President lauded the monarch’s steadfast leadership and commitment to the preservation of cultural heritage, promotion of unity, and the development of Ado Ekiti and Ekiti State. He noted that the Ewi’s influence extends beyond the Southwest region.
“His Imperial Majesty is a notable traditional ruler in Yorubaland, the country, and beyond,” Tinubu said, emphasizing that the monarch’s character, courage, and respected presence enhance the majesty of the throne.
The President expressed appreciation for the Ewi’s love, kindness, and support over the years, praying that the celebrations—spanning five days and culminating on Sunday, November 23, 2025—bring him renewed grace, strength, and many more impactful years on the throne.
