President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment and reconstitution of governing boards for three major federal institutions — the National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF), the Bank of Agriculture (BOA), and the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC).

The announcement was issued on Friday in a statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.

UBEC Board Retains Al-Makura as Chairman

The Presidency confirmed that the earlier appointment of Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura as Chairman of the UBEC Board remains unchanged.

According to the statement:

• Uchendu Ikechi Mbaegbulem — South East
• Gift Ngo — South South
• Mrs Ibiwunmi Akinnola — South West
• Dr Meiro Mandara — North East
• Dr Abdu Imam Saulawa — North West
• Prof. Paul Ibukun-Olu Bolorunduro — North Central

The chairman and members will serve a four-year term in the first instance.

Bank of Agriculture Board Reconstituted

President Tinubu also reaffirmed earlier appointments into the Bank of Agriculture (BOA):

• Muhammad Babangida — Chairman
• Ayo Sotinrin — Managing Director

Additional appointments include three Executive Directors:

• Fatima Garba (Sokoto) — Executive Director, Corporate Services
• Ka’amuna Ibrahim Khadi (Borno) — Executive Director, Risk Management & Strategy
• Hakeem Oluwatosin Salami (Kwara) — Executive Director, Operations

Five non-executive directors representing the six geopolitical zones were also named:

• Aminu Malami Mohammed — North East
• Charles Amuchienwa — South East
• Oladejo Odunuga — South West
• Rabiu Idris Funtua — North West
• Kochi Donald Iorgyer — North Central

NADF: Full Board Now Constituted

The Presidency recalled that in October 2023, President Tinubu appointed Muhammad Abu Ibrahim as Executive Secretary/CEO of the National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF), an agency designed to enhance farmers’ access to affordable agricultural financing.

With Friday’s announcement, the full NADF board has now been constituted.
