President Bola Tinubu has praised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, as one of the shining stars in his cabinet, celebrating him on the occasion of his birthday.
In a statement issued on Friday and signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Tinubu congratulated Wike, who is a former governor of Rivers State, on his birthday, commending his courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment to public service.
President Tinubu thanked God for Wike’s life, acknowledging that it has been characterized by purpose, service, and immense courage. He described Wike as an audacious leader, one who consistently delivers impactful results even amidst challenges.
Highlighting Wike’s ongoing contributions, the President lauded the FCT Minister’s role in transforming Abuja, particularly his successful intervention in resolving the 14-year deadlock over the construction of the Apo-Karshi road. Tinubu emphasized that Wike’s achievements have further solidified his reputation as “Mr. Project,” a title that is no longer confined to Rivers State, but has expanded to national significance.
“Nyesom Wike has been one of the shining stars in the cabinet, an exceptional performer, developing infrastructure in the Federal capital as never seen before,” Tinubu said. “His performance is a testament to his dedication and he has proven that his moniker as ‘Mr. Project’ is not limited to his home state of Rivers.”
The President also recognized Wike’s significant contributions to the Renewed Hope Agenda, despite their political differences. He commended the Minister for his role as a champion of the initiative, wishing him continued success in his efforts to improve governance and infrastructure in the country.
“I commend him for being one of the champions of our Renewed Hope Agenda, even though he belongs to another party,” Tinubu added, expressing his best wishes for Wike as he marks another year of his life journey.
In conclusion, President Tinubu thanked Wike for his tireless work in improving the infrastructure and governance of the Federal Capital Territory, and wished him good health and strength to continue his important work.
