Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, who represents Abia South, has predicted that President Bola Tinubu will be defeated in the 2027 presidential election. He made this statement on Monday during an appearance on Politics Today on Channels Television.

According to Abaribe, Nigerians are increasingly dissatisfied with the current administration and are prepared to vote against Tinubu in the next election. He argued that although Tinubu was officially declared the winner of the 2023 presidential election, he did not genuinely win the support of the people.

“Every politician eventually loses elections, and Tinubu will lose in 2027 because I understand the mood of Nigerians,” Abaribe said. “While he was declared the winner in 2023, he never truly won in the eyes of the people.”

The senator also expressed confidence in the opposition’s readiness to challenge the president, insisting that the circumstances surrounding the 2023 election would not be repeated. He suggested that the methods used to announce the previous election results would no longer succeed.

“This time will be different,” Abaribe said. “People are more aware, more prepared, and the masses are ready.”

Abaribe’s comments highlight rising political tension as opposition parties begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
