
Singer-songwriter Todd Snider has canceled the remainder of his High, Lonesome and Then Some 2025 Tour after sustaining severe injuries from a violent assault in Salt Lake City. The 59-year-old musician was arrested on November 2, 2025, and released just hours later.
Arrest Details
According to Salt Lake County jail records, Snider was taken into custody at 7:10 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2, and released before 3:00 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 3. He was released on no recognizance, meaning he did not post bail but signed a promise to appear in court.
Reports indicate that Snider was initially treated at a local hospital for injuries sustained during an altercation outside his hotel. Following treatment, police say Snider became agitated, refused to leave the hospital, and allegedly threatened staff members. He was subsequently booked on charges including disorderly conduct, threat of violence, and trespassing.
Tour Cancellation
Hours after his release, Snider announced the cancellation of his tour via Instagram:
“We are heartbroken to announce the cancellation of the High, Lonesome and Then Some 2025 Tour dates. Ahead of Todd Snider’s show in Salt Lake City, Todd sustained severe injuries as the victim of a violent assault outside of his hotel. Todd will be unable to perform for an underdetermined amount of time. We deeply apologize for the cancellation and any inconvenience it causes. We appreciate your understanding as Todd receives needed medical treatment. We hope to have more information on new dates soon.”
The tour was supporting Snider’s latest album, High, Lonesome and Then Some, released on October 17, 2025. Snider played one show in Englewood, Colorado on October 30 before the incident and had several major city performances scheduled through November 16.
Health and Career Context
Snider has previously discussed his health struggles, including spinal stenosis, which causes chronic pain and affects his ability to tour extensively. In a recent Rolling Stone interview, he shared:
“I told my team that I want this tour to be the funnest one. I at least want to do it one more time… I’ve got this arthritic s— they call [spinal] stenosis, which makes it painful all over… I do a lot of things to try to help it, but I have to make peace with it, too.”
