The world-renowned electronic dance music (EDM) festival Tomorrowland is set to make its Asia debut in Thailand this December, marking a major milestone in the festival’s two-decade history. Organisers announced on Tuesday that the festival will be held in Pattaya, one of Thailand’s prime beach destinations, and is expected to attract thousands of music lovers from across the continent and beyond.
Thailand Chosen for Global Music Influence
Thailand was selected for its growing role in international music, tourism, and creative experiences. Tomorrowland cited the country’s vibrant live music scene, thriving festival culture, and expanding influence in Asia as key reasons for hosting its first full-scale Asian edition there.
Founded 20 years ago by Belgian brothers Manu and Michiel Beers, Tomorrowland has become a global icon in the world of EDM. The festival is renowned for its spectacular stage designs, elaborate light shows, and immersive experiences, drawing fans from over 200 countries to its annual Belgian edition.
Festival Details and Ticket Information
The Thailand edition of Tomorrowland will take place from December 11 to 13, 2026, with over 50,000 attendees expected per day. Pre-registration for tickets begins on January 8, with pricing as follows:
- Full Madness Pass (three days): 12,500 baht (~$400 / £300)
- Single-Day Pass: 5,100 baht (~$160 / £120)
Organisers confirmed that the festival’s theme and lineup will be revealed in the coming months. The event aims to replicate the scale and spectacle of the Belgian edition, making it the largest Tomorrowland experience in Asia to date.
Five-Year Hosting Agreement and Economic Impact
Thailand has secured a five-year hosting agreement with Tomorrowland. The festival is expected to generate 21 billion baht ($673 million / £497 million) in economic benefits over the period, supporting tourism, hospitality, and local businesses.
Bruno Vanwelsenaers, CEO of Tomorrowland, said:
“Expanding Tomorrowland to a new continent is a milestone we approach with great respect and excitement. This is the beginning of a long-term story.”
Thailand’s Growing Music Festival Scene
Thailand has emerged as a leading hub for international live music festivals in Asia. In 2025 alone, the country hosted events such as the Electric Daisy Carnival and Creamfields, while Bangkok served as a stop for K-pop sensation Blackpink on their world tour.
Local festivals like Wonderfruit have also gained prominence, attracting tens of thousands of attendees each year with music, arts, and cultural experiences. These developments highlight Thailand’s growing reputation as a festival destination in Asia.
Tomorrowland’s Global Expansion
While Tomorrowland has previously held smaller events in some Asian cities, this is the first full-scale festival on the continent that mirrors the size and production value of the Belgian edition. The move reflects the festival’s global ambitions and Asia’s growing influence on the international EDM and live music scene.
