Tottenham Manager Thomas Frank Confident Amid Challenging Premier League Start

Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has reiterated his confidence in both his team and the club’s support, despite a challenging start to the 2025-26 Premier League season. The Danish coach, who took charge of Spurs in June after a highly successful spell at Brentford, emphasized that his players are fully committed to his vision and tactical approach.

Spurs Struggle Continues With Recent Results

Spurs have experienced a difficult run of form in recent weeks, securing just one victory in their last seven Premier League matches. Their most recent outing, a 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest, left the team 11th in the league table with 22 points from 16 games. As Tottenham prepares to face defending champions Liverpool this Saturday, questions about Frank’s strategies and leadership have been circulating among fans and pundits alike.

Despite the setbacks, Frank remains steadfast in his belief that his squad is united behind him. “I feel supported, and my players are with me or going in the same direction,” Frank said in a recent press conference. He emphasized that while the season has seen ups and downs, the commitment of his players has never been in doubt.

Player Confidence in Frank’s System

The unity within the squad was also highlighted by Spurs centre-back Micky van de Ven, who recently commented on the transition from former manager Ange Postecoglou. Van de Ven stated that he “never expected” the previous manager to leave and still has confidence in the systems Postecoglou implemented. Addressing these remarks, Frank insisted that integrating his approach has been smooth, stating:

“No, I think it has been a good buy-in. You could say that from the beginning of the season we started quite well without being sensational. I thought we were very good in some games and solid in others. Like every season, there are setbacks, but my players are still with me and heading in the same direction.”

Thomas Frank’s Premier League Journey With Tottenham

Frank’s tenure at Tottenham has not been without scrutiny. Since joining Spurs, he has faced increasing pressure after a home defeat to Fulham on November 29, which formed part of a sequence of just one win in eight matches. Spurs supporters have voiced their frustrations on social media and in fan forums, calling for improved performances and tactical adjustments.

However, the 52-year-old manager remains confident in his ability to turn the season around, stressing the importance of long-term planning over quick fixes.

“This is not a quick fix. It will take time. But I am very comfortable and confident that I can fix it. Tottenham Hotspur’s success relies on key people working together over a long period, and I am confident that I can be one of those key people,” Frank explained.

Backing From Tottenham’s Hierarchy

Despite the external pressures, Frank insists he retains strong support from the club hierarchy. His previous achievements at Brentford, where he guided the team from the Championship to the Premier League in 2021, have contributed to the confidence Spurs’ leadership has placed in him.

Frank also highlighted his analytical skills and his clear vision for the team’s future, emphasizing that strategic planning and alignment among staff and players are crucial to achieving success in the Premier League.

Looking Ahead: Spurs vs Liverpool

As Tottenham prepares to host Liverpool at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Frank is focused on ensuring his team delivers a strong performance. With fans eager to see improvements, the upcoming fixture represents an opportunity for Spurs to regain momentum in the league and reaffirm their ambition to compete at the highest level.

“We will do everything we can to beat Liverpool. I know what good looks like and where we should get to. With the right people in the right positions and full commitment from my players, we can achieve that,” Frank added.
