‘Trauma, Fractures, Stitches’: Faridabad Gang-Rape Survivor Battles Immense Pain, Unable to Speak; Children Terrified

Faridabad: The 25-year-old woman who was allegedly gang-raped and brutally assaulted in Faridabad earlier this week remains unable to record her statement, even two days after the crime, as she battles severe trauma and multiple injuries.

According to police and media reports, the survivor—mother to three young children—was allegedly raped by two men inside a moving van on the Gurugram–Faridabad Road and later thrown out of the speeding vehicle. She sustained multiple fractures, including serious injuries to the right side of her face and shoulder, along with head and facial wounds that required more than a dozen stitches.

“She is unable to speak,” the victim’s elder sister told The Times of India, adding that the woman’s children are terrified and deeply distressed after seeing her condition. The survivor had been living with her parents following marital issues.

The woman is currently admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a private hospital in Faridabad, where she is undergoing treatment for fractures and deep wounds.

Police said the two accused—one from Uttar Pradesh and the other from Madhya Pradesh—have been arrested and produced before a local court, which remanded them to judicial custody on Wednesday.

Investigators said the accused allegedly drove the van to a deserted stretch of the Gurugram–Faridabad Road, where the assault took place over nearly two to three hours. The woman was later thrown out of the vehicle near Raja Chowk in Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Nagar between 3 am and 4 am. The van was reportedly moving at a speed of over 90 kmph at the time, police officials said.

Blood samples of the accused have been collected to determine whether they were intoxicated during the assault. A test identification parade will be conducted once the survivor is discharged from hospital.

A case of gang rape has been registered at Kotwali police station based on a complaint filed by the survivor’s sister. Police also noted that dense fog and poor visibility on the isolated road may have been exploited by the accused to carry out the crime.
