
The Ondo State Police Command has arrested two students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), for their alleged involvement in the drugging and sexual assault of a 20-year-old female student.
The incident was uncovered when a vigilant neighbour intervened after hearing unusual noises from a nearby residence. Upon investigation, the neighbour discovered the female victim unconscious and one of the male suspects with her.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Olushola Ayanlade, preliminary investigations reveal that the victim had been invited to the home of a 19-year-old fellow student, Queen Sodo, described as her long-time friend. The circumstances of the assault are believed to have unfolded at this location.
Following the discovery, the victim was rushed for urgent medical attention and was later transferred to a specialist hospital for further care. Authorities have confirmed that she is currently in recovery.
The police have not released the identity of the second arrested student but have confirmed that both suspects are in custody as the investigation continues.
