Two Arrested for Chasing Woman Journalist in Delhi

Delhi Police on Friday arrested two men for allegedly chasing a woman journalist who was driving back from work in Noida. The accused have been identified as Shubham and Deepak, both residents of Dabri.

According to police, the incident took place around 12:45 am on the Mahamaya flyover when the journalist overtook the men, who were riding a scooter. The accused allegedly signaled her to stop, and when she did not comply, they began chasing her and reportedly threw a heavy object at her car, breaking the rear window.

“She overtook a scooty, after which its riders began to follow her and attempted to confront her,” a Delhi Police statement said. “Demonstrating courage and alertness, she did not stop and instead drove towards a safer location.”

The journalist reached a safe spot near the Lajpat Nagar flyover at 1:27 am and contacted the police helpline. The local police team quickly responded to ensure her safety.

Based on her complaint, an FIR was registered and multiple police teams, including PS Sun Light Colony, Special Staff, and AATS, were deployed to trace the accused. CCTV footage from the route and intelligence from local sources were used to track Shubham and Deepak. Both men were subsequently identified and detained.

The police added that the accused had a previous case registered under the Arms Act (FIR No. 44/2025, PS Dabri). Interrogation of the two is currently underway as the investigation continues.
