The Borno State Police Command confirmed the deaths of Rifkatu Yohanna and Muhammed Ibrahim Saje, both found with their throats slit in separate incidents in Maiduguri on December 3, 2025.

• Yohanna was discovered in her Shuwari II home with multiple cuts and was confirmed dead at State Specialist Hospital. A suspect, Salisu Mohammed Nura (aka Aliyas Amir), has been arrested.
• Saje’s body was found inside an abandoned green Honda Civic in Modari Polo, identified via an ATM card and car documents.

Both cases are now under the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department. The Police have increased patrols and intelligence operations, warning that perpetrators will face full legal consequences.
