Udaipur, Dec 27, 2025: In a shocking development from Rajasthan, a female manager of a Udaipur-based IT firm has alleged that she was gang-raped by the CEO of the company along with two other accomplices following a birthday party. The incident has raised serious concerns about workplace safety, the misuse of power by senior officials, and the vulnerability of women in professional environments.
According to police reports, the alleged assault occurred on the night of Saturday, December 20, 2025, after the CEO had organised a birthday party at a private venue in Udaipur. The manager, who was a guest at the event, attended the celebration along with other colleagues. However, the party took a sinister turn for her after the majority of guests had left the venue, leaving her alone with the accused.
The police confirmed that three individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident. The accused include the CEO of the IT firm, a female executive head of the company, and her husband, who is a resident of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. All three were taken into custody and produced before a court, which remanded them to four-day police custody while investigations continue.
The details of the alleged assault came to light after the survivor regained consciousness following the incident. She discovered that she had sustained multiple injuries, including trauma to her private parts and other areas of her body. Medical reports have since confirmed that the injuries were consistent with sexual assault, according to NDTV and police sources. The survivor experienced intense pain and distress in the aftermath of the crime, highlighting the severity of the assault.
A particularly disturbing element of the case emerged when the survivor reviewed the car’s dashcam footage, which allegedly recorded the assault along with conversations between the accused. She submitted this footage to the police as evidence, alongside her formal complaint detailing the nature of her injuries and the circumstances of the crime. In addition to the physical and psychological trauma, the survivor noted in her complaint that some of her jewellery, socks, and undergarments were missing, suggesting further exploitation and deliberate targeting by the accused.
The Udaipur police, led by Additional Superintendent of Police Madhuri Verma, have taken charge of the case. A formal complaint was lodged at the Sukher police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the national criminal code, covering sexual assault and related offences. Authorities confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and that forensic examination of the dashcam footage and other physical evidence is underway.
According to police sources, the incident unfolded when the survivor was offered a ride home by the CEO and the female employee’s husband after the party. The survivor was left alone in the vehicle as other guests gradually departed. During the journey, the accused reportedly purchased items resembling cigarettes and liquor from a local shop, which they then allegedly forced the survivor to consume. She subsequently lost consciousness and was unaware of her surroundings for the remainder of the night.
The survivor regained consciousness the following morning and discovered that she had been sexually assaulted during the night. The shock and trauma of the experience prompted her to immediately report the matter to the authorities. Her complaint detailed the sequence of events, the missing personal items, and the injuries she sustained. She also provided the dashcam footage as evidence, which has become a critical piece of proof in the ongoing investigation.
Police investigations have revealed that the accused allegedly committed the crime under the pretext of providing the survivor a safe ride home, taking advantage of her trust and the fact that she was a professional subordinate in the company. The alleged involvement of multiple people, including the CEO, points to a coordinated effort to exploit the survivor, and highlights systemic failures in ensuring workplace safety and accountability in professional settings.
The case has drawn widespread attention, with several media outlets and local authorities emphasising the need for strict enforcement of laws protecting women from sexual harassment and assault. Legal experts have also noted the importance of swift action, as cases involving corporate environments and senior officials often involve attempts to intimidate the victim or suppress evidence.
The arrest of all three accused has been described as a crucial step in ensuring justice. Police have reiterated that the investigation is at a sensitive stage, and all forensic evidence, including the dashcam recordings, medical reports, and statements of the survivor, are being thoroughly examined. Authorities have also indicated that additional questioning of witnesses and individuals present at the party will be conducted to establish the full extent of the conspiracy and corroborate the survivor’s account.
According to the survivor’s complaint, the female employee who is married to the third accused actively participated in the incident, further intensifying the gravity of the crime. The fact that the CEO, a person in a position of authority within the company, allegedly orchestrated the assault raises serious questions about the misuse of professional power and the vulnerability of employees in hierarchical workplaces.
The police have assured that the survivor will be provided with all necessary support, including medical treatment, psychological counselling, and legal assistance. Authorities have also emphasised that the victim’s identity and privacy will be protected in accordance with existing laws to prevent additional trauma or societal backlash.
This case has sparked discussions about the broader issue of sexual harassment in workplaces and the need for corporate accountability. Experts have called for stricter monitoring of work environments, clear reporting mechanisms, and effective enforcement of workplace protection laws. They also highlighted that the presence of surveillance, such as dashcams, can play a significant role in providing evidence in cases of assault, though it also raises questions about privacy and workplace ethics.
In addition to criminal proceedings, legal authorities are likely to investigate whether company policies were violated and whether any senior officials had knowledge of or participated in criminal acts. The role of human resources departments, internal grievance mechanisms, and ethical compliance officers is also under scrutiny in the wake of this incident.
The arrest of the three accused marks a significant step towards accountability, but the case continues to be a matter of intense legal and public scrutiny. The survivor’s courage in coming forward, coupled with the submission of evidence such as dashcam footage, is seen as pivotal in ensuring that justice is served and that perpetrators of such crimes are held accountable.
The Udaipur IT staffer rape case underscores the dangers of workplace misconduct, the exploitation of hierarchical power, and the importance of prompt legal and administrative intervention. Authorities have assured that investigations will continue meticulously, and all legal avenues will be explored to secure justice for the survivor. Meanwhile, the community and law enforcement agencies are being urged to strengthen measures to prevent such crimes in the future, particularly in corporate and professional settings where power dynamics may be abused.
As the case proceeds through the judicial system, attention will also focus on the wider implications for workplace safety laws, corporate governance, and the enforcement of sexual assault legislation in India. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by women in professional environments, and the critical importance of vigilance, accountability, and legal protections in safeguarding their rights and dignity.c
