‘We Stand with Indian Army’: Rajouri Residents on Suspected Pakistani Drone Sightings Along LoC

In Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, local residents have expressed strong solidarity with the Indian Army after multiple drones suspected to be from Pakistan were sighted along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Naushera-Rajouri sector over the past few days. The incidents have prompted heightened vigilance by security forces and increased awareness among civilians living near the border.

Recent Drone Activity

Residents of the LoC reported that several drones were observed last night, suspected to have originated from Pakistan. While Pakistani drone activity has historically been more common in sectors like Samba, Jammu, and Akhnoor, residents in Rajouri said that the Keri sector and surrounding areas have seen a notable increase in drone sightings over the last 2-3 days.

Anish Kasana, a resident of Keri, told ANI:
“We live along the LoC. While drone activity from across the border is not new in regions like Samba and Akhnoor, over the last few days, we have seen Pakistani drones in our sector too. Our Army remains vigilant along the border, but civilians are also alert and active.”

Other areas along the LoC, including RS Pura, Naushera, and Poonch, reported similar sightings over the past 2-4 days. Residents emphasized their trust in the Army, expressing willingness to support security forces in any way possible.

Community Solidarity and Army Response

The residents praised the Indian Army’s constant vigilance, noting that during Operation Sindoor, the Army had already responded decisively to previous provocations. Despite this, drone activity continues, prompting ongoing monitoring and preparedness along the border.

A local resident said:
“Pakistan continues to provoke us shamelessly, sending drones even after our Army’s response. On behalf of the people of our area, I want to thank the Indian Army, who remain alert day and night. We stand with them and will contribute in any way we can.”

Security measures have been tightened in the Samba district following initial sightings, and forces are maintaining heightened vigilance along the LoC in Naushera-Rajouri.

Other Security Measures

In the Kathua district, a search and combing operation is currently underway in the Billawar area after reports of gunshots being fired on Tuesday, highlighting ongoing security concerns in border districts.

The incidents underscore the continued strategic challenges along the LoC, where both cross-border drone activity and sporadic gunfire have prompted proactive security measures. Residents’ solidarity with the Indian Army reinforces the local community’s role in border vigilance and their commitment to national security.
