Why Champz Is Declining Show Invitations – Shola Ogudu

Shola Ogudu, mother of Wizkid’s 14-year-old son Boluwatife, popularly known as Champz, has explained why her son is not accepting live show invitations following the release of his debut EP, Champion’s Arrival.

In a statement shared on X, Ogudu expressed gratitude for the opportunities but emphasized that Champz’s age requires prioritizing his growth and development over live performances.

“We want to say a big thank you for the countless show invitations and for considering Champz. Due to his age, we’re prioritizing development over live performances for now, and have had to decline show bookings. We truly appreciate the interest and understanding,” she said.

Since its November release, Champion’s Arrival has topped charts and drawn significant attention from music fans worldwide. Champz himself reflected on the milestone, celebrating over one million Spotify listeners and millions of streams in just a month.

“Humbled, motivated, and ready for whatever comes next. This is only the beginning. So help me God,” he shared.

Fans and critics have praised Champz’s unique sound, which blends Afrobeats rhythms with UK grime influences, signaling a promising start to his musical journey.
