Nollywood actress-turned-producer Nazo Ekezie, known for films such as Blinded (2021), Stuck with Us (2023), and Flawed (2019), has opened up about stepping back from acting at a time when her star was rising. In an exclusive conversation, she revealed that she has gone “underground” to focus on other projects, particularly her work as a producer.

“I have a couple of other projects that I’m involved in. You know, I’ve become a producer. It depends on what is calling my attention at the moment,” she explained.

Ekezie admitted that acting hasn’t been “calling” her recently, but she stressed that she hasn’t abandoned the craft entirely. “I haven’t gone anywhere. I’m still here,” she said with a gentle smile. She also expressed gratitude to God for keeping her and her loved ones safe amid Nigeria’s challenges with insecurity and hardship. Looking ahead, she hopes to live up to her full potential and achieve even more milestones in the coming year.

Having begun her career in 2009, Ekezie produced her first film, Flawed, in 2018, starring Mofe Duncan and Ebele Okaro. She says her recent decision reflects a conscious choice to prioritize growth and explore new opportunities within the industry.
