Woman Forgets iPad on Dakshin Express, Gets It Back Within Minutes via RailMadad

What could have turned into a travel nightmare ended in relief within minutes, thanks to swift coordination by Indian Railways staff.

A woman travelling on the Dakshin Express to Bhopal on December 28, 2025, accidentally left behind her iPad on the train. Sharing her experience on X (formerly Twitter), user @diyaatwt described the panic that followed—and the unexpectedly quick recovery that came after she sought help through official railway channels.

“Between all the chaos (and lots of crying), we called #139 and registered a report on #RailMadad app,” she wrote.

Rapid response and recovery

According to her post, the response from RailMadad was almost immediate. Within minutes of lodging the complaint, she received a call from the helpline. The information was promptly relayed to the Railway Protection Force (RPF), the Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) on board the train, and railway staff at the next halt, Itarsi station.

“Amazingly, within minutes we got a call from the helpline, a quick follow-up with RPF + the TTE on the train, and staff at the next station, Itarsi. The iPad was recovered!!” she said.

Praise for railway staff

The woman publicly thanked RailwaySeva and the Ministry of Railways, and gave special mention to the staff members involved in the recovery. She named Mr Ramesh PariharTTE Mr Nagendra Kumar (GWL)Mr Madhav Singh, and Navab Singh, praising their efficiency and sincerity.
