Yobe Traffic Agency Clamps Down on Overloaded Vehicles

The Yobe State Road Traffic Management Agency (YOROTA) has launched a targeted operation to enforce strict compliance against vehicle overloading across the state.

The agency’s Public Relations Officer, DSY Musa Ali Maigari, confirmed in a statement from Damaturu that the enforcement team, led by the Heads of Operations and Traffic and the Damaturu Zonal Commander, conducted a ‘Stop and Check’ exercise in the state capital.

Maigari noted that overloaded vehicles pose serious safety risks, not only to drivers and passengers but also to other road users. The operation aims to reduce road crashes, protect lives, and maintain efficient traffic flow.

YOROTA General Manager, Babagana Alhaji Modu, reiterated the agency’s zero-tolerance policy for traffic violations and urged motorists to comply with all safety standards to ensure public safety on Yobe State roads.
