Voting has officially commenced in some polling units for the Anambra State governorship election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) provided updates from Njikoka Local Government Area, stating:

“Voting has commenced at RA 10: Enugwu Ukwu II, PU 003 & PU 004, Njikoka LGA.”

INEC earlier assured eligible voters that their votes will count, encouraging peaceful participation:

“Be counted, be heard. Step out and vote peacefully. Every vote must count.”

The commission also warned against vote selling, emphasizing:

“Your vote is not for sale.”

However, reports indicate that as of 8:30 a.m., INEC officials had not yet arrived at some polling units in Awka, raising concerns about delays in certain areas.
