The Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission (TSIEC) has unveiled several innovations aimed at improving the voting process and enhancing transparency in the state’s local government elections scheduled for Saturday, November 9, 2025.
Speaking at a press briefing in Jalingo, TSIEC Chairman Philip Duwe said the commission’s primary goal is to deliver a credible election that reflects the true will of the people. He highlighted the Commission’s collaboration with civil society organizations and relevant stakeholders to ensure a smooth and transparent electoral process.
Duwe commended journalists for their comprehensive coverage of the Commission’s activities, urging them to uphold professionalism and ethical standards during the polls.
He also revealed that over 23 local government chairmen from across Nigeria, along with local and international election observers, are in Taraba State to monitor the conduct of the election.
“All court cases previously filed against the Commission have been resolved in our favor, clearing the path for an unhindered and credible electoral exercise,” Duwe added.
The TSIEC boss appealed to all eligible voters to turn out in large numbers and peacefully exercise their franchise. He confirmed that there would be no restriction on movement during the election and assured that adequate security measures are in place to ensure orderliness and the safety of voters and election officials throughout the state.
