Police Activate School Protection Mechanism to Boost Security in Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command has launched a comprehensive school protection strategy aimed at strengthening safety across educational institutions in the state.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Commissioner of Police Bello Shehu said the initiative follows the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, mandating heightened security for schools and other vulnerable locations nationwide.

Shehu has instructed the Coordinator of the School Protection Squad to fully implement all security measures necessary to ensure maximum protection for schools across Katsina.

During a security review meeting with tactical commanders, the CP also ordered the deployment of additional personnel and resources to reinforce ongoing operations.

He urged residents to support the police by swiftly reporting any suspicious activities through the command’s emergency lines, stressing that community cooperation remains essential to achieving safer schools and safer communities.
