Detty December: Noble Igwe Urges Nigerians to Put Family First

Media personality and fashion entrepreneur Noble Igwe has called on Nigerians to look beyond the glitz and parties of Detty December and focus on what truly matters during the Christmas season—family.

In a heartfelt message, Igwe encouraged people to prioritise spending quality time with their loved ones, noting that shared moments and memories far outweigh material displays and luxury experiences.

He specifically urged Nigerians to make time to visit their hometowns, reconnect with ageing parents, siblings, and relatives, and strengthen family bonds while they still can.

According to him, the festive season offers a rare opportunity to pause, reflect, and appreciate loved ones, regardless of one’s income level or social status.

“Go home, see your aged parents, see your siblings, and spend time with loved ones during Christmas. It does not matter how much you earn—do it when you can and do it for the memories. Nothing is promised,” Igwe said.

His message has struck a chord with many Nigerians, particularly those living in major cities and in the diaspora, who often find it challenging to balance work, travel, and festive celebrations with the need to reconnect with family during the holidays.
