“People Thought I Was Old” – Nons Miraj Explains Why She Quit Ada Jesus Character

Content creator Chinonso Ukah, popularly known as Nons Miraj, has revealed why she decided to step away from the Ada Jesus character, which initially propelled her to fame.

In a podcast with Taymesan, Nons Miraj explained that while the Ada Jesus persona boosted her popularity, it eventually limited how the public perceived her. She felt it was time to evolve and showcase other aspects of her personality.

“After the whole Ada Jesus thing, I was like, ‘What do I do next?’ People would tire of seeing me turn others into yam and fish. I got bored too. People started thinking I was old,” she said.

The entertainer added that the character attracted a specific audience—mostly older men—which no longer aligned with her goals. She wanted to appeal to a wider demographic, including younger men, and create content that reflected more dimensions of herself.

Nons Miraj also highlighted her desire to expand her brand beyond comedy skits and form personal connections with followers who appreciated her for more than her Ada Jesus performances. She is currently active as the host of The Hunt Game Show and continues to build her career in comedy, acting, and digital content creation.

Additionally, Nons Miraj discussed the challenges of being in the public eye, noting that her personal relationships and friendships have evolved. Some ties have shifted due to unrealistic expectations, prompting her to set boundaries to protect her energy while continuing to invest in her projects and commitments.
