
The Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti, has officially appointed Dr. Olagoke Erinomo as its acting Chief Medical Director (CMD) following the expiration of Prof. Adekunle Ajayi’s tenure on December 31, 2025.
Dr. Erinomo, who was serving as the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee, takes over leadership with a promise to continue the hospital’s legacy of providing quality healthcare services. In his remarks, Erinomo urged staff to approach the New Year with renewed hope and resilience, emphasizing the collective effort to maintain excellence in patient care.
A Vision for the Future
“We thank God for bringing us this far, and we trust Him to make this year a good one for every member of staff and our beloved hospital,” Erinomo said. He also expressed gratitude to the staff for their dedication, which has helped build the hospital’s reputation as a caring healthcare family.
The new acting CMD acknowledged the contributions of the outgoing CMD, Prof. Adekunle Ajayi, who completed an impactful eight-year tenure. Prof. Ajayi thanked the hospital staff for their unwavering support during his time in office, citing the successful accomplishments of his administration, and wished Dr. Erinomo success in his new role.
A Smooth Transition of Leadership
Prof. Ajayi expressed confidence in Erinomo’s ability to lead the hospital through its next phase of growth. “Today marks the transition of leadership of this hospital to you as acting CMD. It has been a fulfilling and rewarding eight years of service, and I am grateful to everyone for their support,” Ajayi said.
Dr. Erinomo, in his own address, congratulated Prof. Ajayi for his achievements during his tenure and wished him well in his future endeavors.
What’s Next?
The Federal Government has indicated that the appointment of a substantive CMD for the hospital will be announced in due course.
