A$AP Rocky Faces $1.1 Million Lawsuit Over Alleged Water Damage to Neighbor’s NYC Condo

Neighbor Sues Over Renovation Damage

A$AP Rocky is at the center of a $1.1 million lawsuit after renovations to his New York City condominium allegedly caused significant water damage to the unit below. The lawsuit, filed in the Manhattan Supreme Court on October 30, 2025, claims that hot water pipes burst in Rocky’s apartment, flooding several neighboring units and destroying personal property.

The rapper, 37, whose legal name is Rakim Mayers, hired contractors from ADE Pro Painting to assist with renovations in December 2024. According to the complaint, on December 23, multiple hot water pipes “originating in and around Mr. Mayers’s unit burst, causing a cascade of water into several units below.”

Details of the Damage

The neighbor who filed the complaint, listed as Chez Ni LLC, alleges the incident caused “destructive” and “substantial” damage to their condo. The lawsuit cites harm to the unit’s fixtures, furnishings, improvements, and personal property. Additionally, the plaintiffs claim they lost the use and enjoyment of the unit, which was rendered uninhabitable during repairs.

“As a result of this terrible incident, our client, as well as other residents and families in the building, were displaced from their homes beginning last Christmas Eve and for several weeks and months following,” said Jonathan Jeremias, the neighbor’s attorney from Schwartz Sladkus Reich Greenberg Atlas LLP.

The complaint seeks compensation for repair costs, replacement of destroyed personal property, and expenses related to temporary housing. Specifically, the plaintiffs are requesting:

  • $900,000 for property damage
  • $200,000 for alternative living expenses
  • Over $42,000 billed by the condo board for emergency contractor work, including water removal, sheetrock removal, and temporary dehumidifier installation

Parties Named in the Lawsuit

The lawsuit names multiple parties:

  • A$AP Rocky’s contractors, ADE Pro Painting
  • The board of the New York City condominium
  • Tyson Beem, the beneficial owner of Rocky’s unit, representing the rapper

The complaint alleges negligence on the part of all named parties, claiming that neither Rocky nor the contractors have accepted responsibility for the damage.
