Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (Southwest), Moremi Ojudu, has reaffirmed her commitment to deepening citizen participation and strengthening grassroots governance as part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Ojudu, accompanied by her colleagues from other regions, presented a comprehensive report to the President in Abuja, highlighting progress, challenges, and successes in community engagement across the Southwest.
She stressed the importance of sustained collaboration with communities, particularly in reaching vulnerable and underrepresented groups. “Meaningful governance must begin at the grassroots,” Ojudu said, emphasizing alignment with the President’s vision of inclusivity, empowerment, and shared prosperity.
“Our work in the Southwest has focused on building trust between the government and the people, promoting inclusion, and ensuring that the Renewed Hope Agenda is not just a policy statement, but a lived reality for ordinary Nigerians,” she added.
The report also offered recommendations to further bridge the gap between government and citizens. These include more accessible communication channels, empowerment programs for the unemployed, and increased partnerships with community-based organizations.
Since her appointment, Ojudu has led extensive outreach initiatives across all six states of the Southwest, engaging with traditional rulers, youth groups, women leaders, market associations, religious bodies, and persons with disabilities.
President Tinubu commended Ojudu and her colleagues for their efforts, reiterating his administration’s dedication to ensuring that every Nigerian, regardless of status or location, experiences the benefits of good governance.
The meeting, which brought together all regional SSAs on Community Engagement, underscored the administration’s strategic focus on inclusive governance, citizen feedback, and sustained collaboration between government and the people.
