Netflix’s hit rom-com Nobody Wants This returns for Season 2 on October 23, 2025, and one of the season’s highlights is the guest appearance of Adam Brody’s wife, Leighton Meester.

Meester, 39, stars as Abby, a former middle school nemesis of Kristen Bell’s character Joanne, who has since become an Instagram mommy influencer. Abby’s arrival stirs up drama in Noah (Brody) and Joanne’s lives, adding comedic tension to the series.

Speaking exclusively with PEOPLE at the Season 2 premiere in Los Angeles, Brody, 45, revealed the best part of working with his wife on set: “Driving to work together and getting a little alone time. It’s sort of a date night.”

Brody and Meester married in 2014 and share two children: daughter Arlo (born August 2015) and a son (born October 2020).

Meester called the set “one of the most fun” she has ever worked on, praising the cast and crew’s kindness and talent. While she mostly shared scenes with Kristen Bell and Justine Lupe, Brody enjoyed observing her from the sidelines: “Most of her scenes are with Justine and Kristen, so I got to be a bystander and watch — which is sometimes even more fun because I get to admire.”

Season 2 continues Noah and Joanne’s journey as they navigate merging their lives and loved ones while confronting the challenges that come with differences in personality and perspective.
