Andy Cohen Accuses Jenna Bush Hager of Stealing Game
During the Nov. 5 episode of Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen revealed that his popular WWHL game, “Prompter Wars,” had been taken by Jenna Bush Hager for use on her morning show, Today with Jenna & Friends.
“We get games stolen all the time, and we say nothing. Prompter Wars, I’m looking at you, Jenna Bush,” Cohen said directly on-air.
The Bravo host, 57, shared the segment after asking guests Janelle James and Jerrod Carmichael whether they’d ever had jokes stolen — both confirmed they had. Cohen then turned the spotlight on Bush Hager, 43, claiming she has been playing the game with various guests in a format closely resembling WWHL.
Prompter Wars: From Bravo to NBC
Cohen has had guests like Anderson Cooper, Gayle King, and Seth Meyers play Prompter Wars for years on WWHL. He even introduced the game to Today in 2024, challenging Hoda Kotb and Sheinelle Jones.
Bush Hager has since hosted Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Kenan Thompson, and Bowen Yang on her version of the game, mirroring Cohen’s original format.
Cohen noted, “The format she has her guests play mimics Cohen’s almost exactly.”
Cohen and Bush Hager’s Past Interactions
Cohen joined Bush Hager on Today with Jenna & Friends in April, where the game was not mentioned. Bush Hager shared that she had sometimes felt like the “third wheel” during Cohen’s previous visits with Hoda Kotb:
“I always felt like, because you and Hoda have a friendship… I was like, ‘Am I on a triple date?’” she said.
Cohen responded, “Did you feel like the third wheel?” and Bush Hager admitted she did — “a little bit — and not in a good way,” but added she enjoyed seeing Kotb and Cohen’s dynamic:
“It was okay because I love to watch people love Hoda, you know, she’s my bestie.”
Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen airs Sunday to Thursday at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo, while Today with Jenna & Friends airs weekdays on NBC.
