Big Breakthrough in Faridabad Terror Case: Woman Doctor Arrested After AK-47 Found in Car

Faridabad, November 10, 2025: In a significant breakthrough in an ongoing terror investigation, a woman doctor from Lucknow has been arrested for her suspected involvement in a terror module operating across Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. The arrest comes in the wake of a series of raids and seizures that have exposed a complex network of militants linked to banned outfits including Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind.

Arrest of Dr Shaheen

The woman, identified as Dr Shaheen, was taken into custody after authorities recovered an AK-47 rifle from her Swift Dezire car. The rifle was reportedly in the possession of Dr Muzammil Shakil, a 35-year-old physician from Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, who taught at Al-Falah Medical College. This arrest marks the eighth individual detained in connection with the Faridabad terror module and the third doctor implicated in the case.

Following her arrest, Dr Shaheen was flown to Srinagar for custodial interrogation, as per officials cited by PTI. The authorities have not disclosed the exact dates of her apprehension but confirmed that her detention represents a major breakthrough in the multi-state operation conducted jointly by the police forces of Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and central agencies.

Background of the Terror Module

The Faridabad terror module first came to light following the recovery of 360 kilograms of explosives and weaponsfrom a rented house in Dhauj village. This property was occupied by Dr Muzammil Shakil, who has been identified as a key suspect in the network. Authorities believe the module’s activities were coordinated across multiple states, leveraging professional and personal networks to facilitate the storage and transportation of explosives.

In addition to the Dhauj property, police discovered a second rented house in Fatehpur Taga village, also linked to Dr Shakil, where a staggering 2,563 kilograms of ammonium nitrate were seized. The house had been rented by Dr Shakil from a local cleric approximately eight months ago. The cleric, identified as Maulana Istaq, has been detained for questioning as police continue to probe the ownership and purpose of the property.

Coordinated Multi-State Operation

The operation has been a joint effort, with officials from Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir, alongside central intelligence and law enforcement agencies, working in close coordination. Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime), Faridabad, Varun Dahiya, stated, “We have found two houses that were rented by the accused. The ammonium nitrate was recovered from the cleric’s property. We are questioning Maulana Istaq, but it is too early to share further details.”

Authorities have stressed that the discovery of such a large quantity of explosives indicates the potential scale of planned terror activities, which could have had devastating consequences if not intercepted in time. The inclusion of professional individuals such as doctors in the network has raised concerns over the sophistication and reach of the module.

Implications and Next Steps

The arrest of Dr Shaheen and the seizures of AK-47 rifles and massive quantities of ammonium nitrate have strengthened the case against the terror module and highlighted the multi-layered operational planning behind it. Investigators are now focusing on tracing the module’s broader links, including financial transactions, logistical support, and potential recruitment channels across the involved states.

Authorities have also begun questioning individuals associated with Dr Shakil and the properties he rented, attempting to determine whether additional accomplices or facilitators may be involved. While the investigation is still ongoing, officials have indicated that more arrests are possible as new evidence comes to light.

The case underscores the continued vigilance required by security agencies in identifying and dismantling terror networks, particularly those operating across state lines and utilizing professional cover to evade detection. Officials have reiterated the importance of inter-state and central coordination in addressing such threats effectively.

Conclusion

The arrest of Dr Shaheen and the seizures from multiple properties in Faridabad represent a critical milestone in dismantling a dangerous terror network. With further investigations underway and potential links being probed across three states, the authorities aim to prevent any attacks and bring all involved individuals to justice.

The incident has sent ripples through law enforcement and intelligence agencies, highlighting both the creativity and audacity of modern terror modules and the importance of sustained, coordinated counter-terrorism operations to safeguard public safety.
