BUA Group has disbursed N30 billion in cash awards to 510 loyal employees, marking one of the largest single employee reward programmes ever by a private sector company in Nigeria.
The awards were presented at the 2025 Night of Excellence and Long Service Awards, recognising employees with service spanning five to over forty years. The initiative highlights the company’s belief that enduring enterprises are built on loyalty, resilience, and exceptional employee contributions across its operations in cement, sugar, food manufacturing, logistics, and infrastructure.
Speaking at the event, Founder and Executive Chairman Abdul Samad Rabiu said:
“Every factory built, every system strengthened, and every milestone reached carries the imprint of employees who believed in the vision long before the results were visible.”
Of the total, 41 employees in the highest award categories received their cheques directly from Rabiu, with individual awards ranging from N100 million to N1 billion. A special award was also presented to Kabiru Rabiu for his exceptional loyalty and leadership. The remaining awardees received their plaques and cheques at various operational locations, reflecting BUA’s inclusive and decentralised culture.
Rabiu emphasised that the cash awards, while substantial, are symbolic of decades of dedication and personal sacrifice. Strategically, the programme strengthens institutional memory, loyalty, and performance culture, aligning individual success with corporate growth.
Looking ahead, BUA plans to expand capacity, invest in advanced technologies, and deepen its footprint across cement, food, sugar, and infrastructure, ensuring that the people who built the company continue to grow with it. The Night of Excellence and Long Service Awards has become a defining element of BUA Group’s culture, showcasing that respect for people and long-term thinking is both a moral and business imperative.
