Edgebase Technologies Sets Sights on AI and Cybersecurity Amid 20-Year Milestone

Edgebase Technologies, an indigenous Nigerian tech firm, has announced that its future focus will be on Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven infrastructure and advanced cybersecurity solutions, aiming to help clients anticipate and manage risks proactively.

Speaking at a media forum in Lagos to mark the company’s 20th anniversary, CEO Joel Egbai highlighted plans to expand partnerships, deepen cybersecurity offerings, and introduce smarter data centre and enterprise solutions.

“Our journey began with a belief that Nigeria could build and maintain technology infrastructure at world-class standards. Twenty years later, we’ve grown talent, strengthened clients’ businesses, and built leaders driving impact across the ICT sector,” Egbai said.

Edgebase has provided IT solutions across financial services, oil & gas, manufacturing, telecommunications, and other sectors. Its Head of Human Capital Management, Lukman Kola Afolabi, emphasized the company’s focus on people, stating:
“From day one, we trained young talents, giving them technical experience and long-term career opportunities. Success is not just about revenue or timelines—it’s about changing lives.”

The company’s General Manager-Sales, Modupe Adesiyun, added that the next phase of growth will rely on continuous talent development, while Head of Operations, Adeyinka Alade, noted that Edgebase’s ability to anticipate client needs and leverage strong OEM partnerships has been its “secret sauce” for delivering tailored solutions.

Founded in 2005 as a hardware supplier, Edgebase has evolved into a trusted provider of enterprise IT infrastructure, engineering services, cybersecurity, and emerging technology solutions. Its strategic pivots—from full-stack infrastructure to long-term OEM partnerships—have helped organisations across Nigeria and West Africa maintain operations despite challenges like power instability, FX volatility, and supply chain disruptions.

Beyond technology, Edgebase has contributed to job creation, SME empowerment, digital access initiatives, and community programmes. To celebrate its 20-year journey, the company plans a series of CSR initiatives, competitions, awards, giveaways, and scholarships through April 2026.

“Twenty years is a milestone, but also a new beginning. We will continue to innovate, build capacity, and shape a stronger, more resilient digital economy for Africa,” Egbai concluded.
