The funeral service for Pastor Matthew Asiyanbi of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) begins today in Modakeke, Osun State. The revered cleric passed away on August 17 at the age of 105.

According to a statement by the Asiyanbi and Osundun families, the proceedings will start with the body leaving the OAU Morbid Anatomy Department at 10 a.m., en route to his Oke Otubu, Modakeke home, where it will lie in state by 4 p.m.

Interment is scheduled for 7 a.m. tomorrow at his residence, followed by a thanksgiving service at CAC, Oke Anu, Akarabata, Modakeke at 10 a.m.

A reception and entertainment of guests will take place afterward at Modakeke Civic Centre and CAC premises, Akarabata, beginning at 2 p.m.

The funeral will also honor his late wife, Cecilia Taiwo Asiyanbi, who passed away on February 1, 2003.
